NY DISTILLING RAGTIME RYE BIB
Ragtime Rye is not only BIB (Bottled in Bond) but also an Empire Rye, what in the does that even mean? BIB means that the whiskey is 4 years old, 100 proof and distilled all in one season at the same distillery, and to be labeled and Empire Rye it must be put into barrel at no more than 115 proof, aged at least two years and be distilled, aged, and bottled in New York state. As well they have to contain at least 75% New York grown rye grain. This means that not only is this one of the most ecologically aware spirits, having traveled a mere 6 blocks from the distillery to the store, but is also 100% New York strong. In the glass it is all cocoa, creme brulee and dried cherries, but if you add an ice cube it opens up with soft tropical fruit and a lovely kind of burnt banana split quality.
