DOMINIK HELD 2020 SAUVIGNON BLANC

A young German winemaker making his stamp on the wine world is remaking Sauvignon Blanc... from Germany no less. Sauvignon Blanc can be quite a chameleon, adept at taking on the efforts of the land and the winemaker and under Dominik Held, it's almost like Held is a Sauvignon Blanc whisperer. There is no gooseberry, tropical fruit here. It's more like preserved lemon with a good dose of saline minerality. There is also spice that plays around the flavors adding layers and texture and will only get better with air.
