From a single vineyard in Sancerre that is pure, dense chalk, Les Deserts, is here to change your mind about Sauvignon Blanc. A nervy wine that starts out with hints of citrus and maybe - is that - ripe pear? Then opens up to reveal white flowers and crunchy minerality followed by a long lush white peach finish. If I were to blind taste this I am sure I would call Chablis and not Sancerre in the best possible way.
